The Vision of the Northeast Conference of Lutheran                    Churches in Philadelphia:

One Body, Many Parts, Discerning and Following God's Will

The Northeast Conference of Lutheran Churches in Philadelphia (NEC) is comprised of 15 congregations, located in Northeast Philadelphia from the Far Northeast to West Mount Airy.  Together, we are planting and watering Christ's mission, and seeing God's growth in our communities.  The NEC shares a monthly newsletter containing ministry information and activities among the congregations, as well as joint worship and volunteer opportunities.  This 'work in progress' continues through prayers, ministry-sharing and discerning the movement of the Holy Spirit among us.  We are blessed in God's venture together, and continue to look for new ways for the Spirit to present itself in our communities.

The NEC is one of eight conferences in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod (SEPA).  The SEPA website is www.ministrylink.org.  SEPA is an expression of the  Evangelical Lutheran Chuch in America (ELCA). The ELCA website is www.elca.org

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is a powerful way that we build community.  In 2012, we started praying for a different group in the conference every month, and we asked that each congregation remember this congregation during the prayers of the people each Sunday morning.  In this way we pray together for our brothers and sisters in the conference each week.

During the month of May, we will be praying for Redemption.  Redemption is located on Bustleton Ave at Rhawn St in Philadelphia.  Please pray for Redemption as it goes through a period of visioning for the future, for guidance and unity as they listen to God's call.
